Cheung Sha Beach

Jeff, Ethan and I went with some friends this past weekend to Lower Cheung Sha Beach. This beach is located on Southern Lantau Island and is known to be the longest stretch of beach in all of Hong Kong. It's also a very well known area for surfers as it has a place to rent equipment for Kite, Wind, or Longboard surfing. Cheung Sha is divided in to 2 areas - Upper and Lower Cheung Sha. - and is actually a quite public beach that is frequented by both expats and locals.
Lantau Island is the island where we live in Discovery Bay, but to get to this beach we took a ferry to Mui Wo (about 30 minutes) and then a taxi (15-20 minutes) to Cheung Sha Beach. Ethan did great on the ferry but almost lost his lunch on the taxi ride! He didn't but it sure took a while to get his color back in face, poor little guy! We really enjoyed the trip, though the weather was a bit cloudy and cool. The food at the very well known South African restaurant, The Stoep was wonderful! It was certainly the first time we'd ever tried this country's cuisine and we were pleasantly surprised. We truly enjoyed the scenery, food, and company!
